Qigong I:
Prerequisite: None
Participants will receive an introduction to Qigong practices and theory. The following information will be included:
- Perform basic Qigong exercises
- Describe Qigong and its basis for Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Explain how Qigong works to promote overall health
- Provide sources for obtaining additional information
Qigong II:
Prerequisite: Qigong I or 10 Phases of Qigong Development
Practices in this workshop will focus more on “merging with the one” - increasing the participants sense of connection and awareness with the surroundings. The following information will be included:
- Perform Qigong exercises that assist in opening up to the environment
- Describe the basis of Chinese Yin/Yang and 5 Element Theories
Qigong III:
Prerequisite: Qigong II
Practices in this workshop will focus on treatment techniques that will assist the participant in applying energy to themselves and others. The following information will be included:
- Project energy to water and food
- Practice energy treatment techniques
- Describe the 12 Primary Meridians, 8 Extraordinary Meridians, and 3 Energy Centers of the body
10 Phases of Qigong Development:
Prerequisite: None
The 10 Phases of Qigong Development present a conceptual roadmap to assist development of Qigong practices for different levels. The concepts of many qigong styles were studied to extract their basic principles. The following information will be included:
- Perform exercises which represent each of the 10 Phases
- Describe Qigong and its basis for Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Explain how different practices fall into different levels to help the body, the emotional causes of illness, and the spirit.
Tai Chi Easy™:
Prerequisite: None
Tai Chi Easy™ is a combination of Qigong and movements selected from Tai Chi. These health enhancement techniques are designed to be easy to learn and can be practiced by everyone regardless of their physical condition. The following information will be included:
- Perform the 5 basic Tai Chi Easy™ movements
- Describe the basis of Chinese Yin/Yang Theory and it’s application in Tai Chi Ch’uan
Integrative Medicine:
Prerequisite: None
This workshop is oriented towards medical professionals to provide an introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine. The following information will be included:
- Perform basic Qigong exercises
- Describe Qigong and its basis for Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Demonstrate Acupuncture techniques
- Relay information from the National Institutes of Health regarding integrative medicine
